The Seattle Mariners acquired infielder/outfielder Samad Taylor from the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday for cash considerations.

Taylor, 25, made his major league debut with the Royals in 2023 and batted .200 with four RBIs and eight stolen bases (in eight attempts) in 31 games.

He played four defensive positions for Kansas City, logging time at second base, third base, left field and center field.

Drafted by Cleveland in the 10th round in 2016, Taylor is a .264 hitter with 56 homers, 287 RBIs and 179 steals in 559 games over seven seasons in the minors.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the Royals to sign infielder Adam Frazier, as previously reported.
